Brief History
Lutsch 2000 started as a business on April 25. 1994 by purchasing the land and building a restaurant in a Bavarian style. Following its prosperous trend, in December of the same year a department store, a terrace and a gas station were built.
The evolution of the tourist centre was marked by the building of Katharina Chapel and of the first hall for festivitiesin 1997. That was the first step in diversifying the offer of the centre.
In April 1998 the department store was enlarged and two of the three pensions were built in 1999. In the year 2000 the Zoo was founded following the purchase of the first specimen – a bear.
Due to the increasing demand and the potential of the first hall, in 2002 and 2003 the centre was enlarged with two other halls. Its evolution continued in 2004 with the third pension and until now two other halls have been finished.
All were built and decorated in a Bavarian style and the main activity consists of food service and tourism.
During these 15 years the centre has evolved rapidly as concerns its growth (number of employees, the activity, the increase in services, and tackling of new customer segments). The offer for customers has also increased constantly.
Another significant event is that in 2003 the founders built their residence within the centre, this fact being very important for the management, as well as for the image of the centre.
Lutsch 2000 is called „the Bavarian village” by the local people due to its image, which is that of a pocket-size village. This feeling is rendered by placing the chapel within the tourist centre.
